Chemistry

  • How many hydrogen atoms are in a cup of water

  • Why do some endothermic reactions occur spontaneously while some exothermic reactions do not?

  • Why are Cu⁺ salts usually colourless, while Cu²⁺ salts are coloured?

What To Expect….

Material:

  • A range of prompts from reaction mechanisms, graphs, molecular structures, problem solving scenarios, mathematical problems and more…

  • Students may occasionally be given pre-reading in the form of a short problem sets, a graph to analyse, or a reaction mechanism to complete.

  • If you reach the interview stage when applying for Chemistry at Oxford, you will usually have 2 or more interviews, with one on Maths, and one on Chemistry (get michael to check). If you purchase two interviews, they will adopt this format.

Format:

  • 40 Minute Mock Interview

  • 20 minute feedback session and course discussion

    • Receive personalised feedback on your performance.

    • Learn about your course

    • Get tailored reading recommendations

    • Find out how best to prepare from students who’ve been through the interview process recently.

Each session is carefully designed to replicate the style, pace, and challenge of the real Oxford Chemistry interview, helping you build confidence, improve your problem-solving, and sharpen the way you explain your ideas under pressure
